Welcome to Cards by Amy K.

I am SO GLAD you stopped by to check out my blog!!! Here I will be posting my current projects for you to see. PLEASE feel free to leave me a comment. I would LOVE to hear what you think about what I'm working on. I have been a scrapbooker/paper crafter since I first caught wind of this wonderful hobby in 2006. I am lucky enough to get to spend my days doing something I love so much and which brings so much joy into my life. I first started scrapbooking as a way to pass the time as I found myself at home alone all day suddenly, now I can't imagine life without it. Too bad I don't get paid for it, then I really would have it all!!!

I know it's a bit late but I have some Christmas cards to share with you today

This is the card I made for the majority of cards I mailed out.

I used the cricut for some of these and some various stamps.  for the trees I used the Close to My heart cricut cart. "art philosophy" and the matching stamps.  Let me know if you have any questions about any of these cards.  I will be glad to give you any information on them that I have.  Thanks for stopping by today. Please feel free to leave a comment.

Congratulations Marine card

I made this for a friend of mine who I am very proud of right now. He has just completed and graduated from boot camp at Paris Island, South Carolina. He is now a U. S. Marine. My husband was in the Corps when we met and all thru the first few years of our marriage and being around the Marines for so long some of the pride they feel begins to rub off on a person. I even went out to Miramar, Ca and stayed on the base there with my husband when he was activated and called up to go to war. I stayed out there with him until he shipped out. I was always so proud of our Marines and loved the Corp, still do. So I am very proud of my friend, Nekoda. I made this card for him graduating boot camp. I have had the camo paper for a long time in my stash but I believe it's from Provo Craft, the flag piece is a digital image I downloaded from the Internet, the banner and the USMC letters are from the Blackletter cartridge for the Cricut, I used Bazzill paper for the cuts, the sentiment is a stamp from Hero arts, and the Marine is stamped from an ABC set from studio G, I used a punch from ek success, the ribbon is from my stash. I glued it all to a kraft card base. That's all I've got for now, but please, as you are celebrating this holiday season please remember our service men and women and keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Forever in Love Anniversary card

I made this card for my Aunt Shelia and uncle Harvey's wedding anniversary back in November but I'm just now getting around to posting it. It's a very busy time of year for me. I have a lot of projects I want to get made for the holidays not to mention making Christmas cards too. I made this card using the Love letters paper line from Recollections at Micheals. I used a stamp set from Hot off the Press to stamp the tree and hearts, the sentiment is a studio G stamp. I used colorbox chalk ink for all the stamps. I used the lacy labels cartridge for the cricut to do the label shape on Georgia Pacific white and red from Bazzill Basics paper. I used detail clear embossing powder to emboss the sentiment. The felt flower and the organza flower are from Making Memories, the leaf is from recollections and I believe the metal bling brad and flower are from the Paper studio. Its that line that Hobby Lobby carries. I also used a piece of vintage lace to finish the card off.
Well, that's about it for now, I hope you enjoyed the card and I appreciate you for stopping by. Please come back again soon. I hope you all have a very Happy Holidays. Be safe and enjoy the people or person you spend it with.
