Welcome to Cards by Amy K.

I am SO GLAD you stopped by to check out my blog!!! Here I will be posting my current projects for you to see. PLEASE feel free to leave me a comment. I would LOVE to hear what you think about what I'm working on. I have been a scrapbooker/paper crafter since I first caught wind of this wonderful hobby in 2006. I am lucky enough to get to spend my days doing something I love so much and which brings so much joy into my life. I first started scrapbooking as a way to pass the time as I found myself at home alone all day suddenly, now I can't imagine life without it. Too bad I don't get paid for it, then I really would have it all!!!

"Count your age...." Birthday card for Mom, Shabby Chic

I made this lovely card for  my Mother's Birthday back in January and yes, I'm just now getting around to posting it. lol. Shame on me, I know!  I do hope she enjoyed this card as much as I enjoyed making it. It was fun to just get into my craft room and play.  On to the card first, then I will show you a picture of what I made for her gift ok. So to make this card I took design paper from Prima and a paper dollie that I sprayed with glimmer mist in a Kraft color.  The flower is, of course, made by Prima. The sentiment stamp is from Hot off the Press and I used some distress ink to color the punch out. The punch is by ek Sucess.  The gathered trim at the bottom is from Close to my Heart and the teal lace is from my stash. I just layered all that on a Kraft card base.  Now on to the gift...

I just think this bird house turned out so cute! All I did was add a few coats of paint and some bling from my stash and most of the  flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the rest are from my stash.  I've had the butterfly for ages and just now found the right project to use it on.  That's all for this post thanks for stopping by. Hugs, amy k
