Welcome to Cards by Amy K.

I am SO GLAD you stopped by to check out my blog!!! Here I will be posting my current projects for you to see. PLEASE feel free to leave me a comment. I would LOVE to hear what you think about what I'm working on. I have been a scrapbooker/paper crafter since I first caught wind of this wonderful hobby in 2006. I am lucky enough to get to spend my days doing something I love so much and which brings so much joy into my life. I first started scrapbooking as a way to pass the time as I found myself at home alone all day suddenly, now I can't imagine life without it. Too bad I don't get paid for it, then I really would have it all!!!

50th wedding anniversary card

I made this card for my Hubby, Brian's, aunt and uncle, Martha and Ray Teems.  They truly are such sweet people and they are very involved in the community and the church.  I've never visited their church with my husband and found Ray and Mot missing.  They are always there sitting right up front and Ray singing the loudest. lol.  Can't you tell I just love them to death? Because I really do.  I've known Ray practically all my life because when I was growing up he worked for the school and he would sometimes drive the bus and he just loved to go on with us kids and tell us girls how ugly we were. Course we all knew ugly meant pretty but he didn't want to say so ..lol.  We had some good times with ole' Ray.
The children threw a very nice party for their anniversary and Ray gave us all some words of wisdom and advice on a long marriage mostly by saying the woman was always right. lol  She's just as sweet as they come and he's just a cut up and a card.  Love them both.

The card was made with designer paper from My Minds Eye and I think it was one of the lost and found collection.  The sentiment was die cut using a spellbinders die and the rosette was cut from the same paper pad.  for the center of the rosette I used one of the clay pieces I've been working on.  It's the mold of a button and I just left the clay white and rubbed over it with gold rub and buff to hit the high spots.  I hope you enjoyed my card and story today.  I'll be back later tonight or in the morning with two new cards. till then, be good,, hugs, amy k
